SECOND AMENDMENT ACTION ALERT NETWORK
DELAWARE LEGISLATIVE UPDATE
On March 7, 2013 the Delaware House of Representatives held its “pre-file” during which several bills were introduced that are of interest to Delaware’s law-abiding gun owners, sportsmen, hunters and recreational shooters. Those bills included the following:
- House Bill No. 35 – Ban on private sales and a thinly disguised attempt at “backdoor registration”. Prime sponsors are Rep. Longhurst & Sen. McDowell. Co-sponsors are Reps. Barbieri, Baumbach, Bolden, Heffernan, Mitchell, Osienski, Ramone, Schwartzkopf, B. Short, Viola, K. Williams,; Sens. Henry, Peterson, Poore, Sokola & Townsend.

- House Bill No. 36 – Provides enhanced penalties for possession of a deadly weapon by a person prohibited such as convicted felons and mental patients. Prime sponsors are Rep. Briggs-King & Sen. Cloutier. Co-Sponsors are Reps D. Short, Hudson, Blakey, Dukes, Gray, Kenton, Outten, Peterman, Ramone, Smyk, Speigleman, Wilson, Atkins, Potter; Sens. Hocker, Lavelle, Lawson,, Lopez, Pettyjohn, Simpson & Venables.

- House Bill No. 37 – Provides enhanced penalties for possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony where the firearm was actually used and where someone is injured with the firearm. Also enhances the penalty for subsequent offenders. Prime sponsors are Rep. Hudson & Sen. Lawson. Co-sponsors are Rep. D. Short, Blakey, Briggs-King, Dukes, Gray, Kenton, Miro, Outten, Peterman, Ramone, Smyk, Speigleman, Wilson, Potter; Sens. Cloutier, Hocker, lavelle, Lopez, Pettyjohn, Simpson & Venables.
